Everyday Makeup

This is my current favorite casual makeup for when I feel like putting a little more effort into my routine, but still want to keep it natural. I absolutely love all of these products, and I think this routine works really well for my face, and what I like.

I have linked all of the products below. Watch my latest Youtube video to see how I use each product, and how it comes together.

6 Little Black Dresses

Ahh the little black dress; timeless, classy and versatile. You can never go wrong with a LBD for any occasion. However, it is important to pay attention to the cuts and styles to ensure that you will be best dressed for the event. Opting for the wrong one can cause you to blend into the background, or stick out like a sore thumb.

I have pieced together a collection of six of my favorite LBD's, and explained what i would wear each dress for.  Each is different from the next, and all have unique elements that give them character.

I paired each dress with these nude pumps from Calvin Klein, wore minimal makeup, and a pony tail to ensure that the dresses were the main focus, and to prove that a LBD does not need to be overly accessorized.

Cream Cheese Chive Mashed Potatoes

Back in August, my boyfriend requested one thing post-wisdom teeth surgery. Mashed Potatoes. With nothing else to do with my Saturday, I decided to do some experimenting in the kitchen. I researched a few mashed potatoes recipes, all which claimed to be "the best", and combined a few to come up with a masterpiece.

Since then, these potatoes have continued to be requested by my family and my boyfriend's family, all of whom snagged a bite of the post-op, teenage boy.

These are the most flavorful and creamy potatoes!

INGREDIENTS

5 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
1/2 cup butter
2 cups Parmesan cheese
1 cup chopped fresh chives
1 1/2 cups cream cheese
1/2 medium head garlic, peeled and minced
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes; cook until tender but still firm. Drain and return to stove over low heat to dry for 1 to 2 minutes.

Add butter, Parmesan cheese, chives, cream cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. Use a potato masher to mash until smooth, and serve.

Yummiest Cinnamon Banana Bread

I never get disappointed by seeing over-ripe, brown bananas in our fruit basket since finding this delicious Cinnamon Banana Bread recipe. I've always been a big fan of banana bread, but this recipe, from The Latina Homemaker, is DEVINE and unlike any I've tried before.

I highly recommend trying it even if you aren't one to be jumping for the banana bread because it is more like a cinnamon, banana cake.

The last time I made this recipe, I doubled the quantities of crumble mixture to add a layer of it within the bread. To do so, I poured half the batter into the pan, sprinkled half of the crumble over the top, poured the rest of the batter over, and then sprinkled the rest of the crumble over the top. This gave the bread a more coffee cake-like texture and taste.

Original Recipe: http://thelatinahomemaker.com/cinnamon-crumble-banana-bread/

INGREDIENTS

Banana Bread:
1 3/4 cups of flour
3/4 cup of white sugar
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of bananas mashed
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of salt

Cinnamon Crumble Topping:
1/2 cup of flour
1/2 cup of brown sugar
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter softened
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

Whisk eggs, buttermilk and oil together. Mix well and set aside. Add flour, salt and baking soda and cinnamon to a separate bowl. Stir to mix the ingredients well and set aside.

Peel and mash bananas with a fork. They will look like lumpy baby food.

Add white sugar, brown sugar, mashed bananas and vanilla to the egg mix. Stir until it’s mixed well. Add flour mix and stir well until ingredients are mixed. Pour bread mixture into a greased 9×5 pan.

For the crumble topping. Add brown sugar, flour and cinnamon to the softened butter. Mix until the mixture begins to look lumpy. I find that mixing with a fork helps. Break up larger pieces with fingers if needed. Sprinkle the topping evenly all over the banana bread mix.

Bake at 325 degree for 75-85 minutes, check with a toothpick to make sure the inside is done.
